Sustainability Statement
It is our goal that whilst we strive as a venue to have a big and positive impact on our community, we monitor and limit the negative impact that our venue has on the environment.
Here’s what we’ve managed to do so far:
We did a big move back in 2024 from a venue a few minutes down the road to our current space. If you’ve seen both places, you’ll notice, everything that still retained its structural integrity after 10 years in the old venue was relocated and reused in the new one. Not only did this help us retain our style and vibe but it helped us keep the carbon cost of the move low.
Thanks to a grant from Creative Cardiff we were able to install point of source heaters in our new venue as well as properly insulate the space to both limit sound pollution and keep us nice and toasty in here without putting the heating on.
With help from FOR Cardiff’s City Ambition Fund, we have done our best to create green spaces in our inner-city venue to help offset our carbon emissions, to promote pollinators and encourage wild greenery to thrive. We find that staff and customers thrive more when they are exposed to green spaces too.
We use local suppliers for our deliveries too in order to save too much petrol being used to get lovely beer to our lovely customers.
Here’s what you can do to help:
We are a city centre venue and are lucky enough to be surrounded by bus stops and train stations which we would encourage our patrons to use where possible.
Where possible, we ask that staff and patrons ride bikes or walk in as bikes can be locked on our railings. Always wear a helmet, especially if you are riding a bike.
Bring your water bottles in and we will happily fill them up for you but we do not sell or serve products in single use plastics.
If you have visited or interacted with our venue and have any suggestions on how we can improve our efforts to conserve the environment and ensure the sustainability of our space, please get in touch, we’d love to hear your ideas.
