We don’t just do banging live music and delicious pints at Porter’s. Recently we opened the sparkling pink plexiglass doors to our brand new 60 seat fringe theatre, nestled in the basement of our Barrack Lane building. We want it to be a space where artists and audiences feel at home - where you can come and see something different that you wouldn't be able to experience anywhere else in Cardiff.

Keeping ticket prices low and welcoming all different kinds of performance, Porter’s Theatre is a place to support local art, see truly brilliant touring work, and have a great night out with your mates.

HE/ HIM

After a 12 year stint failing as a professional actor, Dan founded Porter’s in 2012. Porter’s was imagined as a place for good people to have good times, with a focus on the arts and entertainment, and with a desire to support talent on its way to bigger and better things. With Porter’s Theatre, Dan is particularly interested in connecting and crossing over the theatre makers and music makers of Cardiff and Wales, and doing the same for their respective audiences. He is also always interested in connecting with people with more sense than money, and those with more money than sense

SHE/HER

Alice is a disabled theatre maker, producer and programmer who, along with Frankie, was some of the first Drama students to step through Porter’s doors back in 2012. Since then she’s dreamed of running a fringe venue in Cardiff and now she does - yay! Previously she’s worked with National Theatre Wales/TEAM Collective Cymru, Chapter Arts Centre, Arch 468 and Rose Theatre Kingston. She particularly loves autobiographical weird work, especially when alcohol consumption is not only encouraged but actively facilitated.

SHE/HER

Frankie is a theatre maker, producer, and Cardiff’s favourite cockney. She is passionate about platforming emerging artists and theatre that is a bit weird and different - so getting to run her own venue with her best mate Alice in the dirty basement of her favourite bar is a dream come true. Frankie has spent the last 10 years working across the arts in various roles - from West End theatre marketing, to feminist circus administrating, to most recently producing and programming Wales Millennium Centre’s Cabaret venue. She also makes her own DIY, autobiographical, pint-fuelled shows as CB4 Theatre with Alice and pals Luke and Em.
